Lets get ready to rumble

Its great having a little brother sometimes, we have some great play moments and when you’ve had enough, you just grab him by the throat :-) Only joking its all in good fun. Hope you like this short video of me and Tapa having a rough and tumble after dinner on the rug.

Steps into the pool

Wow our Hu’mum and Hu’dad are very good to me and my brothers, this year they built us some steps into the swimming pool.  We can now go in the big pool for a swim (when they fill it properly) and not just the baby pool for a paddle.

Bruno was a good boy and followed Hu’mum down the steps on the first day. I was not so sure, I stayed at the top step crying, so after 5 days Hu’mum and Hu’dad left my harness on after my walk and dragged me kicking and screaming down the steps and into the pool. I was so pleased with myself, I ran around the pool loving it. Seems that was all I needed, now they have created a pool monster, I wont stay out of it, they even put toys in for me wooooo.

Below are a few pictures showing the us in the pool and the new steps.

Early afternoon I looked like this after Auntie Emma came to visit and decided to brush me!

Then the humans decided it was time I had a new look, lost the dreadlocks and smartened up. Out came the scissors

Then I got to dry off. We went to investigate someone walking past the house

Khumbu and Bruno were a real pain, they would not leave me alone. I think they thought there was a new pup in the house. Khumbu kept trying to get me to play, does he not realise the trauma ive just been through. Bruno just ran around after me with a strange squeak coming from him!! Ive had to be very harsh on Bruno because he was a real pest.

So it seems this is my new look, what do you think of it??

The Beach

Wooo I got to go to the beach yesterday. My first time ever!

My first time in the sea

My first time in the sea

Hu’mum and Hu’dad kept saying they were going to take me and yesterday the weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. We all jumped into the pickup and away we went.

Oh I had so much fun, me and Bruno ran straight to the sea. Neither of us swam but we went far enough out to get our tummys wet. I chased a few birds, sniffed everything and ran everywhere. They say you can see Africa on a clear day!! I was not allowed off my lead as there was too much space and many distractions for me to run away. There is a video below the photos, we hope you enjoy looking at them. Notice how my big brother Bruno will not allow me into the deeper water!

Im on top of the kennel!

Dad has been growing things on top of my kennel so I went to investigate. Turns out there are strawberries, coriander and oregano, mum has some squash seeds up there too. Apparently im not supposed to go up there, but hey thats my kennel roof, im a husky and I will go where im not supposed to.

After being caught up there I thought I would sit and act cute to not get into trouble, it worked, they found it rather funny in the end, works every time, woooo.

Helping mum in the veggie garden

We have had some nice weather recently so mum decided it was time to get out and relocate the onions as the weeds had grown so tall after all the rain and then the sun.

So off went me and mum into the garden. Bruno and Tapa stayed by the pool as its cooler there, but I had to be with mum to keep an eye on things and make sure weeding was done correctly. She always makes me wear my collar outside, not sure why but she does.

After a while it got too hot so I went and found myself another kennel, its where the rotavator is normally stored.

Nice and cool in the rotavator kennel!

After a little more time I thought id best check out and make sure the weeding was being done ok and that all was safe

Then I went to lay in the shade again.

And thats when it all happened! I was checking out the other side of the garden to make sure it was safe, ok I was bored really, when those pesky cats made me chase them. I could not help myself, the torment, they want to be chased they enjoy it, I certainly do.

So off I went, up the garden through the onions, down the embankment and off into the distant olive trees. Blimey it was a bit too hot for running around though.  Mum took Bruno out to help look for me which he enjoyed but he then got hot, none of us were out for long, I never go far, im to scared to be on my own.

So then I got tied up, I was told that if I wanted to be outside with mum and couldnt be trusted then thats how it was to be from now on. The cheek!

Just to finish off the story, im now banned!  Work out for yourself what I did! woooooo wooooo

Remembering Rocky

Today we thought we would share some photos from one of the last walks we had with our furfriend Rocky.  Sadly Rocky died in May last year from the horrible doggie disease Leishmaniasis. As you can see from the photos below, in March he was a fit healthy boy.

Knocking off the 3000m peaks

And so we added another mountain to our list in September 2008.

Khumbu and Bruno have added another summit of the 3000m peaks here in the Sierra Nevada to their list. Cerro de Caballo stands at 3009m high above Lanjaron, the lowest of the peaks. It was rather warm for us all but a great day enjoyed in the mountains. They now have 3 ticked off, Mulhacen 3482m (the highest), Veleta 3398 (2nd highest), and Caballo 3009m, 28 to go!!

2nd Highest mountain in mainland Spain, Veleta

This was our 2nd highest mountain in the Spain’s Sierra Nevada that we did on 19th June 2008. You can see I was having to wear the Canny collar because I was a little too strong for mum and used to pull her over on the way down mountains, but now im a good boy most of the time and I very rarely use it.

Yep on Monday we went up Veleta at 3394m high, a  5 hour round trip. Bruno and Khumbu made it aswell so they are knocking off the mountains well and truly. It was very cold on the way up as it was windy.

We all had good fun especially on the way down as there was still plenty of snow for sliding down the mountain which of course the dogs loved.

Again they spent the next day sleeping off their high adventures, they also took a dip in the swimming pool which is up and running now.
